Clever Grocer Logo Commission

Logo commission for my friend , he needed something fast for an application he's working on: www.clevergrocer.com/ and so we knocked this out in a night. When he has everything set up and ready we may try to revamp it, do something completely different possibly or who knows, he may end up keeping it; it's all up in the air right now. Of the two I personally prefer the version on the right but there were some concerns about how 'readable' it is.

I'm uncertain how I feel about it, sometimes I like it sometimes not so much but we all know how I feel about 'simple' designs by now. Thankfully it's not up to me.
